Associate Governors
Giving back to society has always been a core part of my journey. Since migrating to the UK 20 years ago, I have been committed to understanding and contributing to my new community. My curiosity led me to pursue a Law degree, where I became actively involved in outreach programs, inspiring students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education.
Beyond academia, I volunteered as a Trainee Advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau, which exposed me to complex societal issues and ignited my passion for social work. This led me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work at Brunel University, launching a fulfilling career dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families.
My interest in SEN (Special Educational Needs) education grew from my first social work placement, where I worked with children and adults with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. However, my personal experience as a parent strengthened this passion. My son, diagnosed with autism, faced challenges securing the right school placement, missing an entire reception year. Determined to better understand and advocate for SEN education, I pursued a Master’s in Special and Inclusive Education at Queen Margaret University.
With over a decade of experience in children’s disability services, I aim to bring my expertise to SEN schools as a Governor, ensuring every child receives the support they need. Now focused on social care entrepreneurship, I am developing programs to nurture talents in children with autism and disabilities in arts and music, furthering my mission of inclusion and empowerment.
During my leisure time, I enjoy taking walks and exploring nature with my son, whose love for the outdoors has transformed me into someone constantly on the move. His enthusiasm has deepened my appreciation for the benefits of nature and physical activity, reinforcing the importance of accessibility and inclusion in all aspects of life.
